StatusCam is a macOS virtual camera that shows a status card in your video calls. It is designed so that your privacy is protected by the operating system itself, not just by our promise.
StatusCam does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. We have no servers, no analytics, no advertising, no accounts, and no tracking of any kind.
All processing — rendering the status card, passing your real camera through, and blurring your background — happens entirely on your device. StatusCam runs inside Apple's App Sandbox with no network entitlement whatsoever, so macOS actively prevents the app from making any network connection. Your camera images are never uploaded anywhere.
StatusCam requests access to your camera only so it can pass your own video through to the virtual camera and, if you choose, blur your background. These frames are processed on-device and are never recorded or sent anywhere.
Your preferences (status text, colors, and settings) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS preferences. They never leave your device.
StatusCam does not collect data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
